What to Expect
Psychological assessments are selected based on the referral question and the client’s individual needs. The assessment process typically begins with an initial appointment to gather background information and clarify the purpose of the assessment. This may be followed by one or more sessions involving structured interviews and standardised assessment tools, depending on the assessment being conducted. The assessment approach is collaborative with clear explanations provided at each stage.
Following assessment completion, a comprehensive written report is typically provided including findings, clinical impressions, and recommendations. Feedback is provided in a dedicated session where report results are explained and discussed. This enables you to ask questions, gain a deeper understanding of the outcomes, and explore next steps such as treatment options, strategies, or referrals to other services or healthcare professionals.
Fee Structure
The time it takes to complete a psychological assessment varies based on a variety of factors, including the referred/presenting problem. Assessments are charged at a rate which includes services such as an initial consultation, clinical interview, test administration, questionnaires, observation, reviewing collateral documentation, phone interviews with other sources (e.g., teachers), a comprehensive written report and dedicated feedback session to discuss results and next steps.
Before the assessment, an itemised quote will be provided to you. Payments are made in stages and final payment is due before the final feedback session and release of the report.
