Hi, it's marketing Monday and I want to tell you a little tip for helping to drive website traffic for you that a lot of local businesses forget about or overlook. Have you ever searched for a service, let's say you're looking for a local hardware store, and you notice that Google results will bring up a Google map with pins with your hardware stores in the area that you're looking for?
Now, you can do this for your own business and help increase your web traffic. It's really easy. You just go in, create a Google account and you want to look for a section in your Google account called “Google Places”. All you need to do is register your details, the address and phone number of your business, your hours of operation -- as much information about your business as you can provide - will help you to get your business on the map with Google. And then once you've registered, Google will give a phone call to your company just to verify that it's a real place of business and make sure the information is correct and you'll start popping up in more of those Google map search results that you see on the web.
So take a look at this blog post on my website. I'm Trudy Murphy at trudymurphy.com and under this video you'll see a link to all of the step-by-step details on how to add your business to Google Places. https://www.google.ca/business/placesforbusiness/ It's really a little marketing tip that shouldn't be overlooked if you have a local business. Get on to that now, it will really help drive some results for you.
Come on over and leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you and feel free to share your own marketing tips on my blog site. I'll talk to you soon.
